This exact framework—divine love as human erotic longing—is the very engine of Sufi poetry in the Persianate world, which includes Kurdish literature. Kurdish classical poetry, written primarily in Kurmanji and Sorani dialects using the Perso-Arabic script, is heavily Sufi. The most famous example is Mam u Zin by Ahmad Khani (1650–1707).
