Weighing in at approximately 4.7 GB on PC (and 2.1 GB on PS5), Update v3.618 is not a content expansion (sorry, no new suits for Miles). Instead, it is a deep, technical re-engineering of the game’s core rendering pipeline, memory management, and stability protocols. Here is everything you need to know. Contrary to minor hotfixes that tweak UI elements, v3.618 addresses three critical pillars of the Spider-Man experience: Ray-Tracing fidelity , DirectStorage optimization , and CPU utilization overhead . For players crashing during the infamous “Rhino chase sequence” or experiencing texture pop-in while swinging at high velocity, this patch is a game-changer. 1. Ray-Tracing Reconstruction (RTR) 2.0 The headline feature of Update v3.618 is the overhaul of the Ray-Tracing Reflection system. Previously, the game used standard denoising techniques that could leave reflections looking “grainy” or “boily” (especially on Peter’s Advanced Suit during rainy nights). While some patches in the 3.x series have been minor, v3.618 is arguably the most important technical update since the original Remastered launch. It transforms Spider-Man Remastered from a game that “runs well” into one that feels native to the PS5 and high-end PC architecture. Share your experience in the comments below
