When Train was initially released in 2008 by Lionsgate (under their Ghost House Underground label), it was slapped with an R-rating for "strong bloody violence, language, and some sexuality/nudity." However, horror fans who bought the DVD expecting the visceral intensity of Hostel were disappointed. The theatrical/R-rated cut felt tame.
